Long Time Ago Farm is located in the scenic, rolling foothills of an area known as 'Little Appalachia'. On it sits an early-1800s log house. It is also home to miniature Mediterranean and Poitou donkeys who fill the air with happy 'hee-hawnks'.

We have met so many interesting and talented people from this area. An artisan is "one who practices a trade or handicraft, creating with skill or dexterity something in limited quantities often using traditional methods". That definition perfectly describes what these people do. Our web site was first created to let friends and family see our farm. Over time it evolved to a site that provides a way for some of the artisans we know to sell their wares. Every item you find on the site is handmade by someone who take pride in his work.

Traveling by air? Lotion Bars are the perfect choice.

Traveling by air?  We appreciate this suggestion from Shari H., Hillsboro, Ohio.  She said:

“The lotion bars are fantastic for people who travel.  Since they are not liquid, they do not get flagged by the TSA if they are in your carry-on bag.  …now I am addicted!”  Additionally, she says, “… I love the little pottery pieces, which along with the lotion bars will make great little gifts.”

Check out our selection of homemade, high-quality Lotion Bars and the "Grab Bag" Lotion Bar Clearance at a fantastic price!

Donkey Photo Contest

We have been throwing around the idea of having a donkey photo contest and using the winners' photos in the Long Time Ago Farm calendar. Anyone interested?
This is Rocket Man, one of our miniature Sicilian donkeys. He loves the camera and the camera loves him! It's going to be hard to beat him in the 'cuteness factor'.

FreeShippingDay.com - Friday, 12/17

Our site was accepted to be a part of National Free Shipping Day, that's tomorrow! It is exciting to see LongTimeAgoFarm.com alongside big names like Land's End, L.L.Bean, Sephora, Fossil, Coca-Cola Store. There are other names not so well-known but sound so interesting I will probably spend a day browsing online. Check it out, http://www.freeshippingday.com/

Free Shipping Day was conceived by the people at FreeShipping.org (org, not com), a site where you can find promo codes for free shipping, discounts, and cash back.

Ebates, a Good Thing

Remember the little man on the Monopoly game cards, Moe Money? He is now the mascot for Ebates, an online rebate center. I’ve used it for more than 5 years without a problem; every three months a check is sent automatically. If you shop online anyway, it's a great deal.

There are over a thousand stores on Ebates, many well-known and some that are not as famous. First, go to Ebates, (important to remember because you cannot get the rebate if you do not go through Ebates), select a merchant, then do your shopping.

When you register and make a first purchase, you receive an additional $ 5.00 back. I hope you can take advantage of it, plus their Deals of the Week and Daily Double offers! Check it out using the link to the right of the page.

Horse Patterns

Lis’ original drawings are now available as patterns! Her beautiful designs can be used for appliqués on quilts, pillows, jackets or anything you can imagine, for embroidery, painting, home décor, woodworking and other crafts. She strives to represent each breed or discipline as accurately as possible in a two-dimensional format. Of all the horse designs out there, very few - if any - are as beautiful as these! See the All Things Equine page.
